This one is an old one from the East end of London and has gone threw at least 3 generations, each generation making a few changes for flavor or authenticity, taste kinda like fruit cake but kinda not. As I remember it was rather difficult for my father to get this from his mother My grandmother as she never used any measuring tools, but they were was always willing to share this recipe to who ever was interested and I hope you enjoy it as much as we have.
BRITISH BREAD PUDDING 2.0 1 1/2 loaf bread (white or egg bread) 1 cup light raisins 1 cup dark raisins 1 cup chopped mix fruit, (dried, or candied) 1 1/4 cup brown sugar 3/4-1 cup peanut oil 3 tbs. Cinnamon 1 1/2 tsp. Almond essence not fake
Moisten bread, and then mix thoroughly to resemble dough Put in all other ingredients mix well, with hands if necessary Its good for cleaning underneath your fingernails spray 13X9X2 inch dish with pam Bake at 400 for about 1 hour

Shorah! Welcome to the forums! That recipe sounds good. I've had bread pudding once before, but this version sounds great.
