Here's one I do every year with tomato's and onions from the back yard
HERBED TOMATO SOUP double batch
3 cup chicken broth 1 cup chopped onion 4 LB tomato peeled and seeded 4 tbsp. butter 4 tbsp. all purpose flour 1 cup milk 1/2 tsp. white pepper 2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. Marjoram 1/2 tsp.thyme 1/2 tsp. basil 2 crushed bay leaf 1/8 tsp cloves Run what's left of the tomato and the onion threw a Food processor until smooth with no lumps In saucepan mix chicken broth, onion tomato,salt and herbs Bring mixture to a boil reduce heat, cover and simmer for 25 to 35 min. Take some of the tomato mixture add the melted butter, flour And Milk, mix or process until the lumps from the flour are gone Pour back in to tomato mixture mix thoroughly Cook until mixture is bubbly and has thickened a bit remove from Heat before it burns serves 1 to 4 people
Usualy I have a bowl or two and put the rest of it in mason jars

That sounds really good! I've only ever made Carrot Soup during my cooking adventures. While I do enjoy how simple tomato soup is, this sounds like a nice variation.
And my roommate is always looking for something to use Marjoram in, so hoorah!

Its a nice twist to the usual canned tomato soup, and realy taste great when you use back yard tomato's

Holy sheep dip are my tomato plants growing with ah-vengeance I harvested about 8 lb for tomato soup and you cant even tell, next im gonna try making a whole boat load of Salsa 13-12oz jars full or actually 10-12oz jars and three bowls... ;D I got hungry. But now I got no more lids for jars to put salsa in

It seems to be a good year for Tomatos. My Tumbler tomato plants are like trifids. The soup receipe will come in handy, cheers it sound tasty. Another couple of weeks and I may try it out.
